Overview

A Settlement is a player-created or player-joined community where adventurers live, build, and grow together within Zelvaria. It is a shared living space where players establish homes, develop land, run businesses, and strengthen their group as a unified community.

A Settlement can be a town, a city, or a player-controlled region that operates under its own leadership and structure.

Joining a settlement

Players may join existing settlements as members of the community. Once accepted, they become citizens of that settlement and gain access to its shared resources, protected land, available shops, and community services.

Members are expected to follow the settlement's rules and contribute to the growth and stability of the community.

Creating a settlement

  1. Submit a Settlement Application through a Settlement Ticket on the official Discord server.
  2. Make the Settlement Registration Purchase. It covers registration, land allocation, and system setup. Prices are listed in the store.
  3. Send the receipt or proof of payment inside your Settlement Ticket. Applications without proof of payment will not be reviewed.
  4. Once your payment is verified, the administration or the High Council reviews your application.

If approved, you are granted settlement rights and officially recognized as Mayor, allowing you to claim land, recruit members, and develop your settlement.

Building and expansion

Settlements claim land through a territory system and gradually expand over time using currency and resources. Expansion lets a settlement grow in size and influence.

Within their territory, members can build houses, farms, shops, defenses, and public structures. Expansion represents both progress and power, as larger settlements gain more control and opportunities.

Roles and hierarchy

Each settlement is structured to maintain order and organization:

RoleResponsibilities
MayorThe main leader, with full control over the settlement
Vice MayorAssists in managing members and economic activity
OfficersMaintain daily operations and enforce settlement rules
KnightsResponsible for protection and security within the settlement
CitizensRegular members who live in and contribute to the community
VisitorsTemporary players with no special permissions

Settlement economy

Each settlement can run its own internal economy. This may include collecting taxes from members, earning income from shop rentals, and managing a central treasury.

Funds in the settlement treasury are typically used for land expansion, building public structures, supporting members, and funding large-scale activities such as wars or events.

Player businesses

Players within settlements may open shops or stalls, sell goods and services, and take part in the local economy. Depending on the settlement's rules, businesses may have to pay rent, taxes, or fees to support the community treasury.

Rules and governance

Each settlement has the authority to create its own internal rules, including regulations on PvP, building restrictions, and member behavior.

Settlements may also enforce punishments such as fines, removal of members, or other disciplinary actions, based on their governance system.

Protection and security

Settlements generally provide protection against griefing and unauthorized building. Access to land and structures is controlled to ensure safety and order within the community.

This creates a stable environment where players can build without fear of destruction or theft.

Conflict and interaction

Settlements are not always peaceful. They may compete with other settlements for resources, influence, or territory. Alliances can be formed, and rivalries may develop.

In some cases, settlements may declare war, leading to structured conflict between communities as part of the larger world of Zelvaria, with rewards for the victors.

Settlement tiers

A settlement's rank grows with its population.
